Places To Go in Torrevieja

Torrejieva has been a salt mining centre for Europe since the 1800's and the salt lakes from which salt is taken are a haven for huge numbers of birdlife. See pink flamingoes and other birds on the lakes to the West and North or visit the sea and salt museum. If salt isn't to your taste then why not take a trip to the thriving harbour and visit the busy fish market or the evening craft market for something different. Torrevieja is even host to one of Spain's largest outdoor produce markets every Friday morning which is definitely worth a look. But if relaxation is all you want from your holiday there's miles and miles of sandy beaches which consistently receive the Blue Flag award for cleanliness within easy reach, with many area's almost completely empty of people. Last but by no means least is the Torrevieja Waterpark or Aquopolis - one of the largest water parks in the Costa Blanca. It's the perfect place for a family day out.

Activities in Torrevieja

Torrejieva, although small, is still a city and this is reflected in the range of activities it has to offer. Although there are none within the city limits there are 5 separate 18 hole golf courses in the area and the main Torrejieva Sports Centre is excellent with good tennis courts and a swimming pool amongst other facilities. But if slightly more adventurous sports are your game there's a daily boat from Torrejieva which shuttles you to the island of Tabarca, a protected marine reserve, for a days snorkelling, sailing or windsurfing and you could also try the nearby horse riding centre at Torremendo. Torrejieva also boasts it's own permanent fun fair which is ideal for the kids - or indeed the grown up kids!

Entertainment & Food in Torrejieva

Torrvieja sea front is hometo whole host of different bars and restaurants of various types. There's English style pubs and Restaurants, Irish bars, Spanish Tapas, Nandos and even a MacDonalds. Quiet literally the choice is yours.
